CAG political party

Given
a) the contempt with which our MPs are now held
b) that there will be an election sometime in the next year or so and
c) that Martin Bell was elected standing as an independant against the sleazy Hamiltons,
is now the time to form the CAG party?

We already have several policy ideas - bank charges autolinker.com autolinking image

, tighter DCA autolinker.com autolinking image

regulation, tighter controls on private parking companies, reform of the dubious practice of DVLA issuing fines etc.

What do you think? Do you have any other policy ideas?

:P id run for election in local area but cant afford the election, would definatly vote tho just to get tighter controls on parking companies.

would possibly also vote for closer controls on retail loss recovery companies

Another option, rather than starting a new party, would be for Caggers to stand as independents, which may be popular with people given the low esteem political parties are held in nowadays.
There's an organisation called the Jury Team
Politics Without Parties JURY TEAM which is supporting individuals to stand as independents. Maybe some of their ideas may be worth a look.

What the Jury team are doing is a good idea but they've got the same problem that most independants have - publicity. The benefit of having a political party rather than an umbrella organisation is that, provided there are enough candidates, we'd get access to TV. Ok, I agree that party political broadcasts aren't the most anticipated or watched programs on TV but they do raise awareness, if only at the "the CAG party, who are they?" level

If you set up a political party you need more policies than mentioned. It is easy to have national policies but what is your economic policy? Environmental policy? Foreign Policy? What marks you out against everyone else? What is the unique selling point for me, the voter. Why should I vote for the CAG party which would be a minority party than say the Green Party, Liberal Democrat Party, Labour, or Conservatives?
Who is the Party Leader? I think its a goer if it is well thought out, organised and has backers ie ££££ cos of the issue over publicity.
