Leaflet / Card drops in (or around) branches?

I was thinking this while I was in the (huge, as ever) queue at scummy Lloyds the other day, as a way of getting the message about the banks charges into an even wider domain. Even though public awareness of the rip off is growing due to all the recent press and TV coverage, you can bet that the vast majority of the people stood in the banks vast queues at any one time have'nt got a clue about the nature of their charges, and just 'tut' and pay them at the end of every month.

I'm sure there may be some legal issues involved with this - particularly if the CAG address was used - but any thoughts would be appreciated

If you just had a template leaflet in word, people could print them and go for a trip into town. Perfect for people like me who is a lazy bogger, works evenings and has nothing to do during the day! lol - I'd do it, but it's just if CAG would get into trouble if I stood outside my bank and attempted to give their customers this info!!!

It's been discussed before and I think the main problem revolved around one word, believe it or not: Litter.

We like the idea, but as Bookworm says, it has been discussed before and discounted. We need to be aware of the potential for banks finding anything with which to fight back at us, since they don't have much going for them!

There is no way we could allow leafleting inside a bank (unless a manager had given permission!!) and even outside on the streets you would find that people would take your leaflet and drop it once out of your site - some people would rather do that then say no to you.

You're also up against the traditional 'salesmen' who pester shoppers on a regular basis, so when people see you with leaflets their first choice is likely to be a 20degree turn to avoid you.

Yes. At least I bloomin' well hope so, I've just done a leaflet drop in my home town - 1,547 homes........

Sainsburys have a business card rack in their stores, suitable cards could go in there for a small payment...

But that's not the point. We have to maintain a position that gives no ammunition, and a street full of leaflets promoting our cause is not, well - 'promoting' - is it?
