Default Egg Card Debt Problems

In 2003 my wife took an Egg Card by applying on-line.
They gave her a limit of £7000.00
She spent the money over 6/12 months

In Late Feb 2009, having been paying nearly £170.00/month she called them thinking that she has paid it all off. She was told that what they have been taking out by direct debitautolinker.com autolinking image £170.00 made of interestautolinker.com autolinking image only and insurance/indemnity. She was told that she has ticked a box on the online application form to do with insurance at 2% on the loan value.
My wife does not remember that she has ticked such a box.

She wrote to them asking for the signed credit agreement and any other related material under the consumer credit act and paid £1 by cheque which they cleared on 5/3/2009.

Egg did not comply. 2 months later she wrote again telling them that they defaulted on the 40 days time limit to deliver the agreement. Egg then sent her a letter that they have raised a complaint.

Then my wife wrote to Egg and informing them that she has therefore stopped the direct debit. And asked for the insurance money taken back with interest. She also asked back for £1000 refund from a purchase from the Kingdom of Leather when they refunded her £750 on a sofa she never received then taking the £750 out again.

How can we proceed? Even if my wife ticked an insurance box at the time, surely that is not an insurance policy. Egg did not send a policy to clearly indicate the terms, what actually was being insured, and how to claim etc.

regards

The first step is simple...get a £1 postal order and CCA them, there are template letters on here or perhaps someone will be kind enough to show you one.
