Default £380 Towing Fee

Hi

Premier Parking Services (http://www.premierparkingservice s.co.uk/)towed my car from a pub car-pack. I left it there for 10 hours. They returned the car the next day and would only release the car if I paid £380.

Is this excessive? Can I claim some or all of this back ? Does anyone know of similar cases against Premier Parking Services or similar operators?

Thanks

Charles

Have a read of the clamping guide. The same principles and legislation applies to towing.

HI

Thanks for your help.

Charge was £125 for clamping, £250 for towing and £5 for paying by credit card.

There were several signs on the wall of the pub but I missed them all where I parked.

Thanks again

Charles

Reverse the charge on your credit card. Payment made under duress.

Let them take you to court and tell a judge that they charge £250 to tow you a couple of miles.

Contact the card company by phone. Explain that you were forced to make the payment against your will, if that is what happened and they will start the ball rolling. By against your will, i mean under duress. You obviously felt scared and intimidated didn't you

The company that flkeeced you will then want you to pay them and will no doubt start by writing. Do not respond to them in any way at all.

IF and I do say IF they push all the way through to trying to get you into court, they have almost zero chance of succeeding. The signage must be clear and visible easily, ie not on the other side of the car park.

I am not a clamping expert but I thought they couldn't charge you for clamping AND towing according to their own guidelines?

Of course, I also agree that they shouldn't be able to charge you at all, but if they have broken their own CoP then that all adds fuel to your claim.
