Default BOS Preference Account PPI Query

I am wondering if anyone can help solve a bit of a mystery?

I am helping my father with PPI claims

He has PPI on a BOS preference account credit card however, he cannot remember actually ever applying for any account with BOS plus there is no BOS for the towns he visits

BOS really isn’t my parent’s thing – they were too busy being fleeced by Barclays! They have absolutely nothing else with BOS.

I remember reading on the site somewhere that some people received these cards and accounts completely unsolicited after taking out loans or car finance …. Now that could be the answer or at least a clue but is something I have never come across personally before so I am a bit in the dark.

He has had lots of cars and finance with Peugeot and also one with VW

Can anyone shed any further light on this please so I can start searching on the right places and asking the right questions?

Many Thanks

T

I would start by sending a Subject Access Request to the BOS the statutory fee is £10.00......
Full SAR for ppi

or this link Data Protection Act 1998 - Subject Access Request

This should throw up any data in relation to your father. He will need to sign the letter or sign a letter authorising you to act on his behalf.

This is always the best starting point.

Bank charge successes:
Halifax - Full settlement incl interest.
HSBC - Settlement, goodwill no admission of liability about 75% of claim.
RBS - Settlement, goodwill no admission of liability about 70% of claim.
2 ongoing claims for bank charges with HSBC with more to come. (Supreme Court ruling could have upset these claims) They did
PPI Successes
PPI 4 settlements on 9 loans. FOS involvement on 7 added on the 8 % Statutory interest another 30% to both.
2 claims settled in full with LV without FOS involvement.
2 claims settled in full with HSBC without FOS involvement

PPI Claims ongoing with:
Cap one Now with the FOS
Barclays. They have now been given a deadline before FOS action. No response so complaints now with ICO and FOS.
LTSB still have to decide on this as their SAR production was abysmal. Papers data mixed up documents missing etc

1 Complaint not upheld by FOS they said it was ICO issue. Complaint upheld by ICO. See this..

***RBS PPI Claim Long fight but, WON***

Please do not PM me for advice as it may be sometime before I can respond.

Keep at them. Do not give way and do not accept all they tell you, they will delay and stall for as long as they can to prevent repaying you your mis-sold PPI.
