Lloyds TSB to buy Alliance & Leicester?
I was told the other day that
ltsb are trying to buy Alliance & Leicester and as a result will have to offload the majority of cheltenham & gloucester as they will have a too big a share of the mortgage market. Now personally, i couldn't see it making any sense but anyone else know/heard anything?

Re: Lloyds TSB to buy Alliance & Leicester?
There's been talks of
Lloyds putting in a bid for Alliance & Leicester or Bradford & Bingley since early Feb. Looks like you're right and those rumours have resurfaced this week, but the only thing I can find at the moment is just a snippet relating to share prices.
