![]() | Hi All, This is my first post and just wondering if anyone can help. My daughter is in the process of buying a second hand Mini from a franchised dealer. The retail price of the car for the particular model was quite competetive, so that's what initially attracted her. When she agreed to purchase the car for the advertised price it became clear that the car had no road tax, so the road tax had to be added to the purchase price. It would not therefore be possible to buy and drive away the car for the advertised price, which seems very misleading to me and I am curious to find out if this is stricktly legal. Any advice greatly appreciated. Regards Keith |

| Basic Account Holder | It sounds like many other dealers around. Was the question put to the dealer whether tax and MOT is included? This is the first question I ask. I bought a car from a dealer last week, with no tax, and got the dealer to buy the tax for me at my expense, as i would not been able to due to having no insurance papers |

| Basic Account Holder | Hi, Thank you for the quick reply. In answer to your question no I did not ask the dealer, it's a franchised Mini dealer and I assumed that the price quoted would have included tax - the car does not yet require an MOT. |

| Basic Account Holder | Yh i can see where you coming from, you are right to assume and its something you would expect from a franchised dealer, but Iwould have still asked, nothing can be done, unless you can back of the deal and get them to include |
