Default dodgy car dealer

hi , we purchased a ford galaxy from a small dealer in wakefield yorkshire at the end of april . the Galaxy had a private number plate attached to it that the dealer said he wanted back ( no problem as long as it wasnt going to cost us anything )
The Galaxy supposedly had passed mot 4 days previous to our purchase but when returning home with car all 4 tyres are bald and need replacing at considerable cost to us . we had to insure the car on the private registration plate as we did not know the orriganal number plate but when we came to buy tax disc it was brought to our attention from dvla that our plate was already in use and registered to a silver mercedes , so we had to pay £25 for a duplicate registration.
we need to buy new registration plate for the Galaxy but the dealer has missplaced the log book . We dont want to have to pay out more money for a duplicate log book but the way this dealer has presented himself it looks like we will have to.!!!! The dealer hadnt registered the fact that he had our old car as part exchange on the Galaxy and so we had a final demand for tax on our old car . I had to write to DVLA swanse and inform them that we were no longer in possesion of our old vehicle. Not something we should have to do but obviously this dealer doesnt know how to run his buisness.
Oh and also the exhaust fell off the car 4 weeks after purchasing it so that cost us money again to have repaired
Do you think we have a cause to make trading standards or tyhe police aware of this dealer and the way he runs his 'buisness'?

it is up to you to let the dvla know you have sold the vehicle.as the dealer for the paper work you get with the mot it will give the depth of the tread on the tyres at time of mot are you sure they are not legal.?

positive they were all illegal. the M O T certificate has no details like that on it just the mot test number , normal things like chassis number odometer reading test staion number and name of the garage that did the test ive just been on to the garage that did the test and he told me that he advised that the tyres be changed but its obviose that that wasnt carried out and we wasnt given the advisory note that came with the M O T

The garage that did the MOT can not issue an mot if the tyres are illegal even if they did advise the dealer so they must have been legal at the time of the MOT ask the MOT garage if you can see a copy of the advisory note

it could also be the case that the dealer changed the tyres for the M O T
ive been in conversation with the garage that conducted the MOT and he has told me he has had 3 people this week alone who have complained about the dealer whom we bought the car from.
