![]() | Hi all, While I was searching google for some advise, I came across this forum and thought you may be able to help me! Three weeks ago I placed a deposite on an approved used honda civic with my local dealer, who assured me that the deposite was fully refundable. The car was not at the showroom but, I thought, had just been purchased from an ![]() I was led to beleive that, if I was unhappy with the car in any way, I could have my money back. During the last three weeks I have managed to find another car, and no longer wish to buy the one from Honda, however they say that they purchased the car just for me, and the money was only refundable if there was something seriously wrong with the car. I have not seen the honda yet and have only signed the receipt for the deposite paid. Am I entitled to a refund? |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Your problem is that you were not 'unsatisfied' with the car as you haven't even seen it. If they have paid out for this car for you then they are in a very likely position of losing and that would be why they won't refund. I don't think you could claim under the circumstances of just changing your mind. There are at minimum, transport cost to be paid for. |

Sounds like a plan, unfortunatly I think they would just keep the money and keep looking for the "Right one" Just been to see the manager and it's his opinion that deposite was for a car that I was going to purchase and that some kind of contract had been entered into. He told me he now has a car on his forecourt, loosing money, that it was explained to me that I had purchased the car, that it was brought for me and I would not be getting my money back. I certaily did not go into the dealership with the intention of a purchase and didn't come out thinking I had brought one. I have always brought private, cheaper cars before as I dont like sales people. Guess this was an expensive lesson!!!! ![]() | |
